Hand-Delivered Meals to Homebound Seniors
Volunteers hand-deliver hot & cold meals to homebound seniors, who look forward to these much-needed personal visits. Paired in twos, we deliver meals on foot from Time Square's Encore Senior Center, using a hand-driven cart. The routes are short, usually no more than 10 to 15 stops, and there is no need to use other modes of transportation. To ensure that walking doesn't ruin your rest of the Saturday/weekend, please wear comfortable shoes & weather-appropriate clothing. Upon arrival, volunteers who have signed up through Street Project will meet at the first table to the left and will be given a brief orientation before going on deliveries.

Street Project supplies Encore Center with a set number of volunteers each month. If you signed up to help Citymeals through this website, please make sure you ask for Street Project and locate our table when you arrive! If you can't make it to the project, we request you to let us know at the EARLIEST, thus helping us open the spot for another volunteer. If you have any questions, please use the comments when you sign up. Thanks!
