Holiday Cheer and Paint-Your-Own Pottery!

Please join us as we take the kids from the Harlem Dowling Washington Heights Center to Our Name is Mud, a do-it-yourself pottery shop located on the Upper West Side. We'll help the kids pick out a small item of their choice to paint as a holiday gift for a friend or relative; meanwhile, you can paint a piece of pottery yourself, if you so choose! We'll also provide feative holiday snacks and hot chocolate or cider to get everyone in the mood...if you have any desire to bake or bring something yourself, by all means, please feel free to do so. FYI, Street Project will pay for the pottery and painting fees incurred by the kids and staff of Harlem Dowling. But, given our budget limitations, we kindly ask that volunteers pay for themselves. Pick-up time is 9am SHARP at the Harlem Dowling center in Washington Heights, since we need to be at the shop at 10am. PLEASE ALLOW 45 MINUTES TO AN HOUR TRAVEL TIME UPTOWN TO THE CENTER (directions below). Return time to the center will be around 1pm. We ask that you please commit to escorting the kids both to and from the center, to ensure their safe transport. If, however, your schedule doesn't allow that, we ask that you at least do a pick-up or a drop-off. Hope you'll be able to join us on such short notice!
