Career Gear provides business clothing, much-needed job retention and advancement coaching to low-income men looking to transition into the workforce. It helps its clients to build on their achievements and continue their upward path after they have completed job training and have a job interview scheduled. Career Gear served 1,310 men in New York and another 3,125 at affiliates around the country in 2010. Street Project volunteers assist Career Gear by sorting through its donations of men's business clothing, helping manage its inventory and preparing the workshop area for sessions. This volunteer event is offered on a quarterly basis - come check out the next event!
Career Gear is also in need of volunteers in various areas including: suiting clients, running coat drives, leading workshops, etc. If you would like to get involved in these areas please visit http://careergear.org/volunteer.htm.
