Break! Urban Dance Show in Queenbridge Park
August 18, 2007Free
Join us in taking the kids from the Harlem Dowling Washington Heights center to the Break! Urban Dance Spectacular in Queenbridge Park on Saturday 8/18/07.
We’ll meet the kids at the center at 175th St at 1PM for some pizza before heading to Long Island City (1 stop on subway in Queens) for the show. The free “Break! Urban Funk Spectacular” show starts at 3PM and will showcase 30 years of hip-hop moves as well as gymnastic trips and DJs. If we arrive early for the show we can take part in the free hip hop lessons beforehand or play with frisbees, footballs, etc in Queensbridge park. We’ll drop off the kids between 5:30 and 6.
The kids have loved hip hop shows on past events and this one combines that with a fun outdoor space – plus it’s free! Hope you can come!

Choose your event by cause:
University Soup Kitchen
University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
