Central Park Zoo With the Residents of Carnegie East
September 10, 2006Free
Come join us Sunday, September 10th when we take the residents of Carnegie East to the Central Park Zoo! The more volunteers we bring, the more residents will be able to join the outing! We will be meeting at 1:00pm to each take one or two residents, depending on the number of volunteers, around the Central Park Zoo. The residents average 80 years old in age but all participating will be ambulatory. Please note that a TB test or proof of vaccination will be required (test provided by the in-house nurse). This is a great chance to brighten up someone’s day!

University Soup Kitchen
University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
