Food Preparation at University Soup Kitchen

Volunteers at the University Soup Kitchen, Street Project’s longest running activity, prepare meals to men and women of all ages for a respectful “restaurant-style” environment. Soup Kitchen is a great, fun way for busy people to lend a hand to the community while meeting other young professionals in the city. Saturdays from 8:45 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.

University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
