Volunteers are needed at the Soup Kitchen for several upcoming Saturdays. Space can be limited (~6-8 people per session), so please sign up online if you’re able to volunteer. You must be at least 18 years old. And please let us know as SOON as you know you can’t make a day you’ve committed for.
REMEMBER: the success of these events depends on our volunteers. We understand plans change so if you sign up for an event and later realize you cannot make it, please be sure to cancel your registration on our website to free up your spot for another volunteer. Thanks in advance!
Choose your event by cause:
University Soup Kitchen
University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
