Friends of the Fort Tryon Park Trust – Spring cleaning

Please join us for spring cleaning at the Ft Tryon Park!
All we will be needing is a group of focused people. Ft Tryon Park will provide all necessary tools including gloves. First time gardener’s and those whom have never done any gardening work are welcome! Groups are welcome as well!
Please be prepared to be flexible in tasks as we will be doing various gardening task. Thanks in advance!
WHEN: Sunday, March 29, 2009
WHERE: Ft Tryon Park (Washington Heights)
DURATION: Between 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, Meeting at 9:45 am
DIRECTION: 2 options:
(1) A train to 190th Street stop, elevator to the street, exit right at the top of the stairs. OR
(2) # 1 train to 191st stop, exit tunnel to Broadway, walk west to Bennett Ave, Right to 190th A Subway station elevator to the street, exit right at the top of the stairs.
Proceed north on Fort Washington Ave toward Margaret Corbin Circle, where we will be gathering.
MEETING TIME: 9:45am.
We will be meeting at the information table set up between the two stone columns at the entrance of the main promenade to the Heather Gardens.

University Soup Kitchen
University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
