Gingerbread Houses with the Residents of Carnegie East!
December 3, 2006Free
Come join us December 3rd at 2pm in celebrating the Winter season and the upcoming holidays with the residents of Carnegie East! The cold is upon us so it’s time to begin indoor activities. We will be making decorative gingerbread houses and having great conversation to help lift the spirits of the residents. As this event is being held at Carnegie East House (1844 Second Avenue between 95th and 96th), we expect more resident participation than normal and therefore need a larger volunteer turn-out. We will be meeting at Carnegie East House on Second Ave between 95th and 96th St at 2pm. The event will last between 1.5 and 2 hours and is a great chance to brighten up someone’s day!

University Soup Kitchen
University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
