November 4, 2017Free
Please join us for a trip to see the Gulliver’s Gate exhibition in Times Square with the kids from Manhattan Middle School! We will meet the students at Manhattan Middle School 328 at 12 am to eat pizza at the school and then leaving at 12:45 (our reservation is at 1:30). We plan on returning to the school by 4:00 PM to drop the kids off. We ask the volunteers to pay your own way for the event and money to buy food.
Manhattan Middle School, 328 401 West 164th Street (entrance on Edgecombe Avenue closer to 165th street, facing east).
We usually meet either in the auditorium on the ground floor. To get to the school: The school is in Washington Heights, the closest subway stop is on the C train: 163rd and Amsterdam. The school is two blocks north and one block east.
Choose your event by cause:
University Soup Kitchen
University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
