Ice Skating at Chelsea Piers with Washington Heights Center
January 21, 2006Free
The Harlem Dowling Washington Heights Center will be ice skating at Chelsea Piers at Pier 61. After picking up the kids at the center at noon, we will take them to ice skate from 1-3:30 and then eat a late lunch. Because some of the kids may need help skating, having enough volunteers will be very important for this event – hope you can join us!
Washington Heights Center at 175th St. and Ft. Washington. Take the A train to 175th St – the center is across the street from the park.

University Soup Kitchen
University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
