Ice Skating at Lasker Rink

Please join us and the students from Mott Hall on Saturday, January 29th, for an ice skating trip to Lasker Lanes! We will leave with the students from Mott Hall at 12:00 noon (so please be 15 minutes early) and take the subway to Central Park and then walk to Lasker Ring located between 106th and 108th streets on the east side of the park, where we will eat lunch. Please bring a bagged lunch or money to buy (the rink has food but opens at 1:00). Please also be aware that volunteers are responsible for admission charges at Urban Adventure events. After the event the volunteers will help the students return to Mott Hall by 4:30 pm. In the event you cannot make the event, please let us know. We hope you can join us!

How Do I get there? 1. Take the 1 train to 125th St. Walk east on 125th St to Amsterdam. Walk North on Amsterdam to 131st St. Walk East on 131st St. to Convent Ave. School is on the East side of Convent Ave. 2. Take B,D,A,C to 125th St. Walk West on 125th St. to Morningside Ave. Walk North on Morningside Ave. Morningside Ave. turns into Convent Avenue. Walk North on Convent Ave. to 131st. St. School is on the East side of Convent Ave. at 131st. St.

University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
