Manhattan Middle- Circle Line Cruise
June 10, 2017Free
Please join us for a trip on the Circle Line cruises to see NYC Landmarks with the kids from Manhattan Middle School! We will meet the students at Manhattan Middle School 328 (164th with entrance on Edgecombe Avenue) at 10 am and eat bagels, leaving by 11:00 am (our reservation is at 12:30). We plan on returning to the school by 3:00 PM to drop the kids off. We ask the volunteers to pay your own way for the event (at least $20 would be appreciated, tickets for this event were $30 per adult) and money to buy food. Because we had to buy tickets ahead of time, we have a limited number of spots for volunteers (only 4).
10:00 am, please be 15 minutes early!
Manhattan Middle School, 328 401 West 164th Street (entrance on Edgecombe Avenue closer to 165th street, facing east).
We usually meet either in the auditorium on the ground floor. To get to the school: The school is in Washington Heights, the closest subway stop is on the C train: 163rd and Amsterdam. The school is two blocks north and one block east.
Choose your event by cause:
University Soup Kitchen
University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
