Volunteers with a educational or career background in law will help a highly motivated class of 7th graders stage a mock trial to be held on June 21st in the mock trial courtroom of Heller Ehrman LLP.
This project is led by Heller Ehrman Attorney, Zakiyyah T. Salim. She is currently assisting the students with their trial preparations on Wednesday mornings from 8-9AM at Mott Hall (located at 71 Convent Ave at 131st Street and Convent in west Harlem).
We are currently seeking volunteers who can help the students prepare on Wednesday mornings and volunteers who can help on the day of the trial – June 21st (time TBA).

University Soup Kitchen
University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
