Morning Food Preparation

Volunteers at the University Soup Kitchen, Street Project’s longest running activity, serve meals to men and women of all ages in a respectful “restaurant-style” environment. Soup Kitchen is a great, fun way for busy people to lend a hand to the community while meeting other young professionals in the city.
Volunteers are needed at this event for the morning food preparation shift.
Saturday: 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
If you need to cancel, please let us know as soon as possible as the success of these events depends on our volunteers. We understand plans change so please be sure to cancel your registration on our website to free up your spot for another volunteer.
You must be 18 to volunteer.

University Soup Kitchen
University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
