Museum of Radio and Television w/ 125th Street Center
October 29, 2005Free
Pls join us Saturday, October 29th for an afternoon with the 125th Street Harlem Dowling Center at the Museum of Television and Radio. We will be meeting at the center at 12:45pm and return by 4:30pm.
This is a new event destination, so it should be fun to try! According to my kids in NYC book, the museum broadcast collection comprises over 100,00 TV and radio programs and advertisements from the 1920s to present. You can watch the first moon walk or listen to old presidential addresses on the radio. Hopefully, it’ll be a fun afternoon!
125th Street Center – 2090 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd (take the A/C/B/D to 125th Station)
Choose your event by cause:
University Soup Kitchen
University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
