NY Aquarium with Washington Heights Center
October 15, 2005Free
Come join the Washington Heights Harlem Dowling Center on Saturday, October 15th on a trip to the NY Aquarium! When else will you have the chance to bring kids to see a dolphin show, tropical reef exhibit, sea lion show, and best of all, sharks?
We’ll meet at the Washington Heights Harlem Dowling Center at 10:45am so that we can head out no later than 11am and return around 5:30. The kids will be bringing bag lunches for the long subway ride down so that we have as much time as possible at the aquarium. I’ll bring some healthy snacks and drinks in case the kids forget but be sure to bring along some lunch.
The kids are excited about this event so we’re expecting a bigger group and need lots of volunteers! Please sign up through the website if you can join us.
Washington Heights Center at 175th and Ft. Washington.
Take the A train to 175th St – the center is directly across from the park on Ft Washington.

University Soup Kitchen
University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
