Painting a middle school in Brooklyn

Helping Hands will be going to a middle school to help kids paint their school. It’s a fun way to spend a Saturday being a role model to great kids from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.Take the A or C heading Downtown/ BrooklynGet off the train at Utica Ave
Exit near intersection of Fulton and Utica
Walk East toward Rochester Ave
Turn Right on Rochester
Walk about 5 blocks, you will cross Atlantic Ave—keep going!
MS 584 is on the corner of Bergen and Rochester.
Please bring $10 to cover lunch expenses for yourself and one kid. Also, make sure to wear old clothes that you won’t mind getting paint on!

University Soup Kitchen
University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
