Painting a School in the Bronx
March 18, 2006Free
We’re going to the Bronx to work with students and help them paint a high school. It’s a fun way to spend a Saturday – working with some talented students and getting to know some other young professionals.
Make sure to wear old clothes and please bring $5-10 to cover lunch for you and one other student. We’ll be done by 3 p.m., but you can leave earlier if you need to.9 a.m. at Grand Central Terminal – the Info Desk (clock)
Choose your event by cause:
University Soup Kitchen
University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
