Painting in the Bronx

Helping Hands will be going to the Bronx to paint a high school with attending children. It’s a fun way to spend a Saturday being a role model to great kids from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Directions to Monroe High School1300 Boynton Avenue, Bronx New York
Take the 4 Train from 14 Street – Union Square station heading Uptown / Woodlawn
Pass 42 Street – Grand Central

Get off at 125 Street
Take the 6 train from 125 Street station heading Uptown / Pelham Bay Park
Pass 3 Avenue

Get off at Elder Avenue
Exit near intersection of Westchester Ave and Elder Ave
Go straight from the subway stairs to the end of the block and turn right onto Boynton Ave.
You will see Monroe Highschool a couple blocks down on your right.
Please bring $5-$10 for lunch for yourself and one child.

University Soup Kitchen
University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
