Parks Revitalization – Parks Beautification at Fort Tryon Park
March 22 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pmFree
Join Street Project and the Friends Committee of the Fort Tryon Park Trust and NYC Parks at a monthly Beautification Day. This event is great for groups!
Plants, tools, gloves and refreshment will be provided. Wear long pants and sturdy shoes.
We will meet at the Entrance to the Heather Garden at 11AM. All volunteers will need to sign in upon arrival at the table at the entrance. Note that this is an hour after the broader volunteer event starts to activities will already be in progress.
For public transportation to the Park, take the A train to the 190th St stop. Follow signs in the station for Fort Tryon Park / the Cloisters to the elevator exit; the elevator will take visitors to the subway terrace level of Fort Tryon Park. The entrance to Heather Gardens is across the roundabout driveway at the top of the stairs after exiting the station.
Please contact Chris @ firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions about logistics or signing up groups.
Choose your event by cause:
University Soup Kitchen
University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
