Picnic and Rollerskating at Riverbank State Park with 175th
June 21, 2008Free
Join us in taking the kids from the Harlem Dowling Washington Heights center (175th center) to Riverbank State Park for a picnic and rollerskating. We’ll pick up the kids at the center at 11:15 and head to Riverbank State Park. Riverbank has a great, grassy area for a picnic and we’ll bring along some sporting equipment to play with while having lunch. Then we’ll hit the rollerskating rink for about 2 hours before taking the kids back by 4.
The kids loved rollerskating at this rink last year and we’ve brought the other center to Riverbank for ice skating, so it should be a great trip! Skaters are preferred (to be able to help the kids) but all our welcome. There are a limited number of signups available for this trip as a group is taking about half of the spots.
As with other Harlem Dowling events, volunteers would cover their own cost for skating. Entrance fee to the rink is $5 and rental is also $5.
Hope you can join us! Please email me with any questions as Lisa will be out of town for this event.

Choose your event by cause:
University Soup Kitchen
University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
