Pottery Painting with PAL youth!
April 25, 2009Free
Join us in taking the kids from the Harlem PAL center to go to Painted Pot in Brooklyn to paint pottery! We will meet at the center 11:15 -11:30 and leave latest by 11:45 to go to the Painted Pot in Carroll Gardens, just a few stops into Brooklyn. We will leave Painted Pot by 2:30/3:00 and drop the kids off at the center.
Volunteers are welcome to paint as well ($12.00) but are not required to. Painted Pot fires the pottery after we leave and I will arrange to get the finished pottery to the kids and volunteers a few weeks later.
The kids are excited for this opportunity so we hope you can come!
Meeting Location: Police Athletic League, 441 Manhattan Ave, NY, NY 10026, corner of 119th Street The quickest way to reach the center is the D express train to 125th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue. Choose your event by cause:
University Soup Kitchen
University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
