Rescuing Leftover Cuisine – December Event (FiDi / SoHo)
December 10, 2016Free
Street Project has partnered with Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC), which is an organization dedicated to helping the hungry by rescuing and donating leftover food to homeless shelters. RLC rescues an average of 50 pounds of food, which feeds about 40 people!
At our Street Project RLC event, we will pick up excess meals at restaurants and deliver them to shelters in need. All deliveries will be done on foot.
Please arrive by 4:15pm on Saturday December 10, as we will depart the location promptly at 4:30pm. We anticipate finishing before 6:45pm, so everyone can enjoy their evening plans.
Feel free to contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions!Meeting at a restaurant in the Financial District at 4:15pm, finishing up at a mission in SoHo by 6:45pm — additional details will be provided to participants

University Soup Kitchen
University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
