Sailing Adventure w/ South Street Seaport Museum

The volunteers from Street Project and Mott Hall Students will be traveling to the South Street Seaport Museum on Saturday, May 12th, 2007 to participate in the Pioneer Adventures sailing program. We will set sail at 1:00 p.m. aboard the Pioneer. The students will learn the scientific principles that explain how the Pioneer’s sails propel her as they take part in raising sails onboard. They will also use navigation tools to plot Pioneer’s course with charts and a compass.
Space is extremely limited so please sign up ONLY if you are able to fully commit.We will be meeting promptly at 11:00am – Mott Hall School – 131st Street and Convent –
Take the 1 (Red line) to 125th – Walk East to Amsterdam – Walk North up Amesterdam to Convent. Walk East on 131st St. Mott Hall School is at the end of 131st St. at the intersection of Convent Ave.
Take B,D,A,C to 125th St. Exit at 125th St. and St. Nicholas Ave. Walk west on 125th St. to Morningside Ave. Head north on Morningside Ave which will turn into Convent Ave. Mott Hall School is at the intersection of 131st St. and Convent Ave.

University Soup Kitchen
University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
