Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island w/ 125th Street Center
September 24, 2005Free
***NOTICE – CHANGE OF DATE***
Due to the bad weather forecast for tomorrow, we are rescheduling the 125th Street Harlem Dowling event for the following Saturday, September 24th. The rest of the event details remains the same.
If it rains again on the 24th (fingers-crossed), we’ll push it back until October 1st. We’ve gotten a great response to this event and the kids are really excited, so we’re going to keep trying the next few Saturdays until we finally get there!
Please join the 125th Street Harlem Dowling Center on Saturday, September 24th for a day exploring the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island! (When else will you really have a reason to go??? 🙂
We’ll be meeting at the Harlem Dowling Center at 10:00am and returning around 5:00pm. Plans are to take the ferry from Battery Park City and have lunch at the Statue. After exploring the area, we’ll continue on to Ellis Island before heading home.
It’ll be a great day and the kids are very excited! Please sign up through the website — we’ll need a good amount of volunteers! If you have any questions, please let me know!
***Rain date will be October 1st

Choose your event by cause:
University Soup Kitchen
University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
