Statue of Liberty with the Washington Heights Center
September 16, 2006Free
Join us in taking the kids from the Harlem Dowling Washington Heights Center to the Statue Liberty! We’ll pick up the kids at the center at 10:45 and take the subway down to the ferry. We’ll have a picnic lunch before taking a tour of the museum and the pedestal. If time permits, we will also visit Ellis Island, since the ferry pass covers both parks. Either way, we will plan on dropping off the kids by 4PM.
Hope you can join us!
Choose your event by cause:
University Soup Kitchen
University Soup Kitchen is Street Project's longest running volunteer opportunity. Volunteers serve a wholesome, freshly made meal each Saturday in a respectful atmosphere. The kitchen provides a welcoming place of respite for guests and offers vital social services to those in need.
Kids & Teens
Helping Hands provides two opportunities: 1) With Publicolor, volunteers are paired with middle and high school students to repaint and revitalize public school buildings. Or 2) volunteers can support Change for Kids’ mission to invest in NYC public elementary schools in underserved communities.
